This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Nikkomander application and this web site. Nikkomander is published by Nikkoid LLC ("we", "us").

In short

• Nikkomander runs on your computer. It does not collect, send, sell or share your personal data.
• There is no account, no sign-in, no telemetry, no advertising and no analytics in the application.
• This web site uses no cookies, no analytics and no trackers; only the buy page loads Google's payment script (Google Pay).

The application

Your files

Nikkomander shows, copies, moves, packs, views and deletes files on the drives of your computer when you ask it to. All of this happens locally. The contents and names of your files are never sent to us or to anyone else.

Settings

Your preferences (skin, language, keyboard shortcuts, folder hotlist, command history and the last folders you used) are stored on your computer, in the application's own storage. They never leave your computer. Config > Reset all settings deletes them; uninstalling the application removes the program, and you can delete its remaining data folder yourself.

Network

Nikkomander does not connect to the internet on its own: it does not check for updates, report errors or send usage statistics. Network activity only happens when you cause it, for example:

• when you open a network drive or a cloud-synchronised folder, which is handled by your operating system;
• when you click Visit the web site in the About box, which opens this site in your web browser;
• when you start another program from Nikkomander, which then follows its own privacy rules.

Passwords for .nik archives

Passwords you type to create or open encrypted NikPak archives are used only in memory, on your computer, for that operation. They are not stored and not sent anywhere.

This web site

This site is a set of simple pages. It does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, social media widgets or fonts from other companies. The only outside script is Google Pay's, on the buy page. The contact form and the order confirmation are handled by our own server, which forwards them to us by e-mail.

Like any web server, the server that hosts this site may automatically record technical information for each request, such as the IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, and the browser's user agent. These logs are used only to run and protect the site and to count downloads, and are kept for a limited time according to the hosting provider's practices. We do not combine them with other data and do not use them to identify you.

Buying a licence and contacting us

To deliver a licence we need the name and the e-mail address that the licence is made for. When you buy, this information, the licence type and the amount are kept in our list of licences to answer support questions and to send the key again if you lose it. We never sell or share it.

• Google Pay (buy page): the payment is handled by Google and its payment partner under their own privacy policies; the buy page loads Google's payment script for that. We receive a confirmation of the payment, not your card number.
• Stores (itch.io, Microsoft Store and others): the store handles the payment and its own data.
• Cryptocurrency: transactions are public on their blockchain. We use the transaction you send us only to match your payment and your licence.
• Contact form: your name, e-mail address and message are sent to us by e-mail so that we can answer, and are not used for anything else.

Children

Nikkomander and this site are general-purpose tools and do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data through the application or this site, there is normally nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you believe we hold information about you, for example because you wrote to us, contact us and we will answer your request under the laws that apply to you (such as the GDPR in Europe).

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date. Significant changes will also be mentioned on the home page.
